Senior Director of Development - College of Human Sciences

Kelly Hanfelt exemplifies the best qualities of an outstanding, dedicated leader, possessing personal integrity and a thoughtful communication style. Her leadership, collaboration and service to her alma mater have had a profound effect on the ISU Foundation and Iowa State University.

Hanfelt’s role goes beyond fundraising. For example, she took a key role with donors and alumni during the successful combination of two colleges into the current College of Human Sciences. Hanfelt collaborates with her peers and colleagues to assist donors in meeting their philanthropic objectives. Her fundraising efforts have impacted students and faculty across campus.

Pam White, dean of the College of Human Sciences, said “Cultivation of our donor base in the college to its current level would not have been possible without Kelly’s hard work, effective interactions with people, and positive outlook. When we visit with donors, it is very clear that they love visiting with Kelly. She knows just the right touch to interact with each person, so they feel comfortable and appreciated. Kelly has a knack for knowing just the right time to request a special gift, and then provides proper feedback and follow-up to satisfy the donor.”
